Saving Indonesia’s birds-of-paradise one village at a time

Indonesian rainforests are home to 41 species of birds of paradise, 37 of which live in the jungles of the western part of the island of Papua. But villagers and environmentalists fear that these birds may one day disappear completely from Indonesian Papua, due to poaching and deforestation.
